Gas Technician

Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Atlantica seeking G1 or G2 Gas Technicians to join our Services team. The technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas, fuel oil systems, boilers and other equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

About the Opportunity:

• We are looking for skilled and dedicated G1 or G2 Gas Technicians to join our team. We will also consider applicants with an Oil Burner certification.

• Membership with The United Association of Journeypersons and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada (Local 56)

Work Site Environment:

Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance:

• Install, inspect, and maintain gas systems, pipelines, appliances, and equipment.
• Ensure all systems are installed in compliance with local codes and regulations.

Repairs and Troubleshooting:

• Diagnose and repair gas-related issues, such as leaks, malfunctions, or equipment failures.
• Test and calibrate gas appliances to ensure proper functionality.

Safety and Compliance:

• Conduct safety checks to prevent potential hazards.
• Adhere to safety standards, including proper handling and storage of gas and related tools.

Customer Service:

• Provide excellent customer support, including explaining work performed and offering recommendations for system improvements.
• Respond to emergency calls for gas-related issues in a timely and professional manner.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
• Prepare reports for supervisors or clients as needed.

Qualifications:

• Gas Technician - G1 preferred. G2 with interest in obtaining G1 will be considered.
• Oil Burner Certification. Commercial Experience is preferred, Residential Experience will be considered
• Previous experience as a Gas / Oil Technician or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of gas systems, appliances, and safety regulations.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various work sites.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform manual tasks.
