Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Atlantica seeking G1 or G2 Gas Technicians to join our Services team. TheĀ technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas, fuel oilĀ systems, boilers and other equipment while ensuring compliance with safetyĀ standards and regulations. This role requires technical expertise, attention toĀ detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

About the Opportunity:
  • We are looking for skilled and dedicated G1 or G2 Gas Technicians to join ourĀ team. We will also consider applicants with an Oil Burner certification.

  • Membership with The United Association of Journeypersons and ApprenticesĀ of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and CanadaĀ (Local 56)

Work Site Environment:

Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain gas systems, pipelines, appliances, andĀ equipment.
  • Ensure all systems are installed in compliance with local codes andĀ regulations.

Ā 

Repairs and Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and repair gas-related issues, such as leaks, malfunctions, orĀ equipment failures.
  • Test and calibrate gas appliances to ensure proper functionality.

Ā 

Safety and Compliance:

  • Conduct safety checks to prevent potential hazards.
  • Adhere to safety standards, including proper handling and storage of gas andĀ related tools.

Ā 

Customer Service:

  • Provide excellent customer support, including explaining work performed andĀ offering recommendations for system improvements.
  • Respond to emergency calls for gas-related issues in a timely and professionalĀ manner.

Ā 

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspections, repairs,Ā and maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare reports for supervisors or clients as needed.

Ā 

Qualifications:

  • Gas Technician - G1 preferred. G2 with interest in obtaining G1 will beĀ considered.
  • Oil Burner Certification. Commercial Experience is preferred, Residential Experience will be considered
  • Previous experience as a Gas / Oil Technician or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of gas systems, appliances, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driverā€™s license and the ability to travel to various work sites.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and performĀ manual tasks.
  • Commitment to and champion for safety conscious work environment
