Safety Advisor

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor at Trenton Woodworks, you will play a vital role for the Macklan Group of Companies. In this role, you will conduct thorough safety audits, provide essential training to employees, and a culture of safety throughout the organization for a diverse workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with Team Leads, Plant Managers, Safety Manager, and other dedicated team members to uphold and enhance our safety standards across the site.
  • Implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions and report to Safety Manager.
  • Provide safety training and orientations to employees on various topics, including proper use of equipment, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Work with supervisors and front-line employees to ensure that we have high degree of compliance with the safety program.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety by leading by example and encouraging safe behaviors among all employees.

 

Experience- 3-5+ years

Seniority Level- Mid-Level

Employment Type- Full-time, onsite

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, diploma from a recognized program or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety advisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
